St. Louis Affiliate WOCN Meeting Minutes

Members Present:

Meeting called to order at 4:10 pm by Lisa Hodges, President.

1. Previous minutes approved without changes, motion made by Diana Economan, seconded by Christine Heady. Motion carried.

2. Secretary Report—April Kuhlman reports that the mailing went out regarding the need to pay local membership dues. If you have received this letter and you believe it is in error, please contact us immediately. If you did not receive this letter, your membership is up to date. Unfortunately, those who do not pay either local or national membership dues by 12/05 will be dropped from the mailing list in December. Also if you have not been receiving emails from April in regards to the minutes or meeting announcements, please contact her at agundla@yahoo.com. She is tracking any failures that she receives. However, when group mailings are sent, there is a possibility that it may go to your bulk mail or spam mail folder instead of your inbox. For this reason, please add her email address to your address list so that you will receive her emails. Again, information is also posted at www.stlwocn.org

3. Treasurer’s Report—Jackie Bangert: $15, 000 in CD due 1/07; $8,291.50 in savings; $1,893.75 in checking for initial total of 25,185.25. Interest on savings 11.87 for a total of 8,303.37 in savings. Expenses: web server on Visa for $59.50 for a final total of 25,197.12

4. UOAA update---Betsy Naeger. Betsy Naeger absent, no report.

5. Discussion that we will meet on Tuesday 10/17 to discuss plans for Holiday Party at 11:30 am. All who are interested in helping us plan this are welcome to attend, please contact Lisa Hodges. Location to be determined later.

6. The affiliate presidents in the Midwest plan on meeting and arranging a regional conference. It is hoped that it will rotate among the various affiliate locations on an annual basis.

7. Diana Economan and Jo Ann Hager report that has had good results in a trial of the new Coloplast fistula pouch. It is very flexible and gets good wear time.

8. Jackie Bangert is going on a mission through St. Johns and Health Healing and is asking for donations of wound supplies. Samples and outdated supplies are also acceptable. She is willing to come pick them up. Contact her at 636-537-5255. She needs them by the 3rd week of October for packing and the mission trip is in November.

9. Linda Geurin asked if anybody was willing to participate in an informal, anonymous salary survey. Discussion followed but no commitments were made.

10. Marge Groom has received permission of the authors of a tool to research pressure ulcers in the OR and would like permission to come to your facility and go into the OR to do further research. Please contact her for further information.

11. An announcement was made that Beverly Hampton passed away after a battle with breast cancer.
