Meeting
called to order at 1615 by Marge Groom, President.
Members

1. Presidential Opening Statement by Marge Groom,
President. Reflection on upcoming year with emphasis on RN’s joining National
WOCN, discussion of upcoming 2009 WOCN National Conference in
2. Secretary Report-Linda Newberry, Secretary, discussed
WOCN-St. Louis Survey to be completed and given by adjournment of meeting and
updated mailing list.
3. Website Update-April Kuhlman, Webmaster, Nothing new
to report at this time. Discussed tracking report of Website related to number
of hits/visits of website per month. Total number of times the Website was
visited in December 2007 was 301 with 37 first time visitors to website and for
January 2008 there were 405 with 42 first time visitors to website. Discussion
regarding reporting website hits/visit at meeting and will be explored by the
Executive committee as to what data is needed.
4. Treasurer Report-Jackie Bangert, Treasurer, December
report with cash on hand as of 12/31/07 is $20,299.62 in savings and $3,867.99
in checking for a total of $24,167.61 with Income from National dues
$840.00, guest $12.00, Holiday party $1,995.00 and interest of $4.95
with total Income of $2,851.95 with Expenditures of $4,432.59 for Holiday
party, $9.11 for printing, $500.00 for Donations, $49.00 for software for
Website, and $450.00 for April Kuhlman for Website total expenditures of
$5,440.70, leaving a total of $21,578.86 as of December 31. Holiday party
composed of 36 WOCN, with a total of 61 for an average cost of $73.00/per
person for
5. UOAA Report- Betsy Naeger. Reminder that the product
fair at
6. WOCN positions-Marge Groom, President. Currently

7. Old Business-Wound and Ostomy Nurse Survey-Colleen
Cole to bring results to next meeting.
8. New Business-Executive officers
a.
National WOCN
membership-discussed dissolving local membership and all members joining
National WOCN with $12.00 of each National dues going to St. Louis Affiliate,
with evidence presented from
b. Suggestion for WOCN nursing student or student night.
Will be discussed and explored at a later meeting.
c. Scholarship committee-Discussion of development of
scholarship sub-committee. Motion by April Kuhlman to approve Scholarship
Committee WOCN St. Louis Affiliate and seconded by Betsy Naeger. Volunteers for
Scholarship Committee include April Kuhlman, Rachel Kaminsky, Pam Bowman,
Colleen Cole, Betsy Naeger, and Linda Newberry.

President Elect
Office-Discussed possibility of a President Elect for WOCN St. Louis Affiliate.
Executive officers will research office and present at next meeting.
9. Announcements

Member news-Betsy
Naeger updated on group on Medical West ostomy supplies with recent
discontinuation of taking United Health Care with now taking Genairex. Please
notify Betsy Naeger at Medical West for further information.
b. Linda Wessel from
c. Congratulations to Retta Sutterfield for her recent
article in Journal of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence titled Light Therapy and
Advanced Wound Care for a Neuropathic Plantar Ulcer on a Charcot Foot.
d. Next meeting is Tuesday, April 1 and being Sponsored by Hollister
