WOCN- St. Louis Affiliate Minutes for June 2, 2009 Meeting

 

Meeting called to order at 1620 by Marge Groom, President

 

Members Present: Jackie Bangert, Elizabeth Borsay, Colleen Cole, Debbie Coleman, Janette Dietzler, Patricia Donald,  Marge Groom, Linda Geurin, Rachel Kaminski, Sandra Kucera, April Kuhlman, Gale Lupien, Beverly Mittrucker, Linda Newberry, Rhonda Pepmiller, Beverly Pool, Michelle Raines, Carol Schlather. Clinical Guest: None

 

  1. Secretary Report- Linda Newberry. Approval of April meetings. Motion by Roxy Lupien and seconded by Beverly Mittrucker. National membership will appear on the national registry after the 10th of every month.-2009 Upcoming St. Louis Affiliate Educational Dinner Meetings, February 3,  April 7, June 2, August 4, October 6, December Holiday Party-December 1

 

B.      Website Update-April Kuhlman, Webmaster, April visitors 393, unique visitors 166, 1st time visitors 147 and returning visitors 19. May visitors 559, unique visitors 233, 1st time visitors 176 and returning visitors 57. Any postings for website please send to April Kuhlman @ info4stlwocn@yahoo.com

 

C.      Treasurer Report-Jackie Bangert, Treasurer, June 2009 cash on hand was $23,031.70 (CD $18,000,  and checking $5,031.70).  Payment made to April Kuhlman for webmaster duties for the sum of $450.00 was made thus a total of $23,015.43.  Motion by Linda Newberry to accept financial report and seconded by Patricia Donald. Discussed room for National WOCN convention @ Drury @ $139.49 night with room located on 2nd floor and hotel will be given names of members for access and usage. The room will be available for member usage from Sunday, June 7 with Check out on Wednesday, June 10. There will be snacks and drink available in the room. Any individual members wanting to store items collected in the room, please put your name on these items.

 

D.      UOAA Report-Betsy Naeger, absent.  Attendance is encouraged. Membership for the UOAA is $12.00 annually and currently meets on the First Monday of the month with alternating evening and days. Currently can access UOAA link on WOCN-St. Louis Affiliate Website

 

E.       WOCN positions- Please contact Marge Groom or April Kuhlman with any employment listings and these listings can be accessed on the WOCN-St. Louis Affiliate Website.   

 

F.        Old Business:

a.       Scholarship committee- Reminder that scholarship applications can be obtained from and submitted to Linda Guerin with a $1,000.00 per scholarship and can be obtained within 3 months of graduation from a WOCN program. Please contact Linda Guerin for request for applications for scholarships or further questions.

b.       Holiday Party committee- Jackie Bangert no report.

c.        Wound, Ostomy, and Continence National-41st Annual Conference-The Gateway to Knowledge June 6-10, 2009. Discussed the Region/Affiliate meetings from 1830-2030 with St. Louis Affiliate located in the Kingsbury room. Discussed possible food or drink to have available in the room. Motion by April Kuhlman not to host food or drinks in room except water and seconded by Rachel Kaminski. Reminded volunteers for compression therapy workshop with Myra on Saturday June 6 that included Peggy Taylor, Christine Heady, Rachel Kaminski, Janette Dietzler, Marsha McGruire, and Lucy Atchley. Marge groom to notify these individuals on further information on meeting with Myra. Pointers for First time attendees with suggestion to ear comfortable shoes, bring return address labels and/or business cards, dress comfortable and bring a jacket/sweater.

d.       Conference ribbons-WOCN St. Louis Affiliate ribbons were distributed and members are to wear with St. Louis stick pins with arch.

e.        Officers- WOCN St. Louis Affiliate upcoming elections August 4, 2009. Nominating committee includes Betsy Naeger, Linda Stamm and Marge Groom. If interested in any of these positions please notify and individual from the nominating committee. Positions open will be President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Discussed availability on conduction elections on line with announcement at August meeting of the new officers.

a.       National Dues-Do not forget to pay your national WOCN dues and can also be renewed with your WOCN Conference Registration Form.          

H.       Announcements: None at this time.
