(Hillsboro) for WOCNEP.  Kay Gundy is an approved preceptor for the WebWOC

program, Diana Economon is trying to get the contract approved so that she can

precept for WebWOC as well.  April Kuhlman, Linda Newberry, Rhonda Pepmiller,

STL-A Library-Proposal  Colleen Cole (deferred to June mtg)

            Regional Conference Committee:  Janette Dietzler

JoAnn Hager presented her findings regarding possible venues:

1)St. Louis Soccer Park is available 10/26, but only able to accommodate 90-120 people, and does not have much room for the vendors.  Approximate price/person would be $31.35 ($4,702.50).

2) Sheraton Westport is available 9/21 and has sufficient space for our needs.  A/V is available, at an extra charge ($425), they can help set up, but if additional help is needed there will be a $60/hr charge.  Approximate cost/person is $68.20 ($10,229)

3) Eric P Newman Center is available 9/21 and would have everything we need at no additional charge (except vendor tables, which would be an additional $10 /ea.)  Cost/person ~$74.00 ($11,100).

4) The Cedars Banquet Center, based on 150 persons, available Tues, 10/26.  No A/V is included. (screen rental at additional charge, dependent upon size).  Vendor tables would be an extra $500.

Box lunch available @$5375.00, Buffet lunch @ $6,425.00.  Price/person $42.83 plus screen charge.

5)  Orlando Gardens, based on 150 persons, available Tues, 10/26.  No technical support available.  Includes room setup with classroom seating, corded mic and podium, registration table.  We would provide our own projector and computer, 8 foot screen.  Room rental waived with buffet lunch.  Continental breakfast, buffet or box lunches, water station, soda and snack available. Cost/person $37.87 (($5680.50).

It would appear that our best option would be the Newman Center.  Rhonda Pepmiller will go with JoAnn Hager and Diana Economon to look at the Newman and see that it indeed meets our needs.

Janette Dietzler reported that we have confirmation from >8 vendors who want to sponsor speakers.  Tentatively, the charge for vendors will be $150/table/vendor.  Date September 21, 2010.  We are trying to keep the charge per attendee < $100/person.  Janette reported that it will cost $250 to approve 8 or less CEUs for the program through MONA, and will need 45 days to get approved.  Audrey Moyer-Harris reported that National Healing already has a program with 9 approved CEU credits related to wound care, which she will check on, since we wanted to include some ostomy CEUs in the program.  Outlines will be needed for each speaker's presentation in order for MONA to accredit.  The program will tentatively include 45 minute sessions, a continental breakfast, morning break, lunch, afternoon break and possible cocktail hour, but must end by 1645.  We will need to do the marketing ourselves, though we will check with National to see if they can help with marketing.  Discussion was held to see if we wanted to include MDs and PTs in the targeted audience, and it was decided to stay with nurses (RNs, Pas and LPNs).  Others may attend if they wish, but will not receive CEUs/CMEs.  This will be something to look at if we hold another conference at some time.  Audrey Moyer-Harris will look at accreditation and speakers,  Diane Economon and JoAnn Hager will speak on ostomy.  Other speakers may include Cynthia Fleck, KCI (surfaces) and Healthpoint.  Rhonda Pepmilller moved to proceed with the conference planning if it can be done for a cost of <$100/person.  Seconded by Diana Economon.

E.  Website Report:  Janette Dietzler for `April Kuhlman, webmaster.  February saw 333 page loads, 135 unique visitors, 27 returning visitors and 108 first time visitors.  There were 108 page loads, 43 unique visitors, 15 returning visitors and 28 first time visitors in March.  April cannot accommodate a more complex/interactive website and does not want to commit to a contract.  She states she has not been getting information from others in order to update the site.  We are asking members if they know anyone who does web design that would be available to take over this job.
